Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the FoxyDNS public DNS service (“Service”) provided via https://foxdns.com.

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. About the Service

FoxyDNS is a public DNS resolver service that allows users to resolve domain names using FoxyFy-operated infrastructure. Queries may be transmitted over encrypted protocols such as DNS over HTTPS (DoH) or DNS over TLS (DoT), depending on client configuration.

The Service is provided for general-purpose, personal, and small-scale use. No commercial service-level agreement (SLA) is offered.

2. Eligibility

To use FoxyDNS, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a legal guardian.
  • Use the Service in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Agree to these Terms.

3. Service Scope

FoxyDNS provides:

  • Public DNS resolution via FoxyFy-operated servers.
  • Optional encrypted DNS protocols (DoH, DoT).
  • Access to a distributed network of DNS nodes.

The Service does not include:

  • Domain registration or DNS hosting.
  • Content filtering, blocking, or parental controls.
  • Any guaranteed uptime, latency, or performance.

4. Pricing

The FoxyDNS public resolver is provided free of charge.

FoxyFy reserves the right to introduce optional paid features in the future. Any such changes will be communicated transparently.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited activities include:

  • Using the Service for illegal activities or to access unlawful content
  • Generating excessive automated queries intended to disrupt service (abuse, amplification, scanning)
  • Attempting to interfere with or degrade the infrastructure

FoxyFy reserves the right to rate-limit, block, or restrict access in case of abuse.

6. Service Behavior

DNS responses are provided based on standard resolution behavior and upstream data sources. FoxyDNS does not modify responses for tracking or advertising purposes.

Query routing may vary based on availability, performance, or network conditions.

7. Intellectual Property

All infrastructure, software, and branding related to FoxyDNS are the intellectual property of Chris Ahrweiler.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

No guarantees are made regarding:

  • Availability or uptime
  • Resolution speed or latency
  • Accuracy or completeness of DNS responses

You use the Service at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

FoxyDNS and its owner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:

  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Incorrect or delayed DNS responses
  • Loss of data, access, or connectivity

Total liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

10. Access Restrictions

FoxyFy may restrict or block access to the Service if:

  • Abuse or excessive traffic is detected
  • Legal or regulatory requirements apply
  • Operational stability is at risk

11. Legal Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable laws when using the Service.

FoxyFy complies with lawful requests from authorities and may take action if required.

12. Data Protection and Privacy

The Service processes DNS queries and associated metadata (such as IP addresses) solely to operate and secure the resolver.

No user accounts are required for basic use of the Service.

13. Changes to These Terms

FoxyFy may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Düsseldorf, Germany.
